Architecture and Projective Geometry talk & workshop

To celebrate 100 years of Steiner Education 1919 – 2019

Architect Bronwyn Bellemore is presenting a talk and workshop on

Architecture and Projective Geometry

25th and 26th October

At Casuarina School

Gentle St Coffs Harbour

Beginning: Friday evening 25th October 2019 at 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm

Architecture reflects the time in which it is created.  In our age what sort of architecture would support the continued development of the human soul?  We will look at architecture through the epochs to understand this question and investigate the effect of geometric forms on our soul by developing our ‘artistic feeling’.

Continuing: Saturday morning 26th October 2019 at 10 am – 12 noon

We will begin to understand space through the activity of drawing using the “new” medium of Projective Geometry.

All welcome especially those geometrically challenged.  This geometry is user friendly, as we only use rulers as a means to create a straight line.  Measurement is not required for Projective Geometry.  It is the geometry of quality not quantity.

Bronwyn is an architect in Coffs Harbour with a particular interest in how geometry underlines the design of traditional architecture.  She was involved in the design of Casuarina School which has a geometry underlying the design linking the design idea with the philosophy of the school.  She taught at the school for 3 years in the 90’s and has been studying and presenting Steiner’s ideas on Architecture and Geometry for almost 20 years.
