Ongoing Bushfire Monitoring

Dear Chrysalis Community,

Whilst the bushfire situation has eased toward the end of the week, we will most likely experience further disruption in the weeks leading up to the end of term. Major fires are a continuing menace to the north and south of Bellingen Shire, with the threat level impacted by the weather.

Our thoughts are with those who have suffered loss – fortunately, our Community has avoided this thus far – and the firefighters who continue to put in a tireless effort to protect us all.

The School is monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis and our Bushfire Preparedness Policy Guidelines and Procedures detail how we will respond to specific fire danger ratings. We are very aware of the disruption to family schedules when closing the School; however, our paramount concern is the safety of our students and staff.

If there is a further closure; staff, parents and carers will be advised by email and the website will again be the source of ongoing information. During closure, it is important to check the Right Now section of the Chrysalis website homepage. This is where you will find the most up to date information in respect to the School being closed and reopened.

Thank you for your support and understanding. If you have any lingering concerns, or questions, please feel free to contact the School.

Warm regards,

Kelley, Pete and Tim.
