River Song Term 3

Greetings from River Song

Now with the wattle ball and dollies tea party behind us, we are welcoming Lady Spring and preparing for our involvement in the whole school festival at the Maypole green.

As the children bound into Spring, their bodies are lengthening and stretching out. They are all gaining more control of their physical movements and becoming a little more aware of how they affect others. They all seem to have a growing understanding of what is right and wrong and all of them are involved in helping sort out things that happen along the way. Whether a child is reporting to me what someone has done to them, or something that has happened to someone else, there is always the possibility of taking this opportunity of learning and turning ‘straw into gold’. The approach to processing these issues at kindy is very similar to restorative justice, adjusted for these early years.

At this time the class is quite harmonious with their inside and outside play, building all sorts of constructions inside while re-entering the sand pit with new endeavours with the warmer weather. We have recently welcomed Banjo and his family into our class, and look forward to Malu and her family joining us again soon.

See you all at the Spring festival.

Warm wishes

Gail, Jana and Christoph
