Going Up Ceremony 2020
As we make our way to the end of the school year, there is much to reflect upon and be thankful for. The world events have affected us all… with the extreme polarities of unity and isolation. Fortunately, we have not been affected as much as others have. Even the extra time at home with your children can be seen as a blessing in these times of great busyness. With all this happening around us, the children have continued to develop in so many ways, showing great excitement with every new achievement. This morning Gail shared a story about a…
Class 8 Project Presentations 2020
This was a Class 8 project presentation like no other... with COVID, there was the question raised whether the students could even go ahead with their chosen projects. Could they see their mentors? Would there be sufficient time to complete their projects after lockdown? Then, when it was decided the projects could go ahead, did they need more time? Could the students actually present their achievements? To one family member? At an off-site location? In the end, the students were able to present their achievements at a slightly later date than usual, to three chosen guests each (either family and/or…

Book Week celebrations
"Curious Creatures and Wild Minds" A display of the short listed and award winning books will be set up in the library during the week. All classes will get a chance to visit this display. All funds raised are going to the 'Indigenous Literacy Foundation'. The foundation distributes books to children in remote areas, offers translation of texts and sponsors indigenous writers. Unfortunately due to the ongoing COVID regulations there will be no parent participation in this week's celebrations. Looking forward to seeing all the wonderful costumes on Thursday & Friday.

Green Leaders Waste Audit
Hello Chrysalis! Thank you for allowing me to come on Friday to work with Class 6 in doing a Waste Audit at Chrysalis School. Despite getting a little chaotic at one stage, I think we had some great outcomes around looking at what waste the School generates, having a think about how we can repurpose items and taking responsibility for litter around the classrooms and high school area. Special thanks to our photographer, Sid, Kelley, and particularly the four girls pictured who so diligently worked at sorting, weighing and recording the waste data. The first picture shows the rubbish that…
