Athletics Carnival 2020

A wonderful display of Speed, Strength and Precision... A big CONGRATULATIONS to all the students who tried their very best at the 2020 Chrysalis Athletics Carnival. We certainly have some speedy students who could further their athletics ability in coming years. After practicing regularly this term, some of the students surprised themselves with the distance of their throws in shot put and javelin. It is great to see the students really push themselves past their comfort zones. The novelty events are always surprisingly popular with all ages at the carnival. Remote Learning Preparedness

Similar to our Bushfire Preparedness strategy, the school is currently developing our Remote Learning Preparedness, should the need for isolation arise again. Our staff, students and families showed great flexibility and resilience in adapting to remote learning so quickly in Term 1. There are areas that we can improve on, should we implement remote learning again, including offering assistance to students and families who may require some additional support in accessing learning materials. Class 6, 7 & 8 students will receive a "practice" home learning session in the classroom. Two parent workshops will be run to support parents: a daytime…

Class 8 project

Since 2003, Chrysalis has offered the Class 8 Project. During the course of the year the Class 8 students are asked to prepare an independent learning project for presentation to the school community. This project is traditional in many Steiner schools world-wide and involves many facets of learning appropriate for this age. Students are encouraged to venture into a “new” area of discovery, or take something they are already interested in and investigate it in greater detail. The project involves working with a mentor. Mimimising Risk of COVID-19 Transmission in NSW School Communities

This week, the NSW Government, through the Department of Health, introduced additional measures for school operations in response to recent cases of COVID-19 transmission. So that there is absolute clarity in respect to what is required of the School by the Government, please see a letter from NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant. This information will provide context for the measures the School has needed to implement in the last few days. The Death of Baldur

This year's Class 4 play was a matinee session to students only. Thankfully, Paul was in attendance to film for the parents of Class 4 for them to see at a later date. 2020 Non-Government School Census collection notice

The Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment will shortly be undertaking the 2020 Non-Government School Census collection. As a parent/guardian you do not need to provide any information directly to the department. The only thing you need to do is ensure your address details are up-to-date with our school. As a school we have contacted each individual family over the recent weeks to ensure your child’s/ children’s details are up to date. Physics in Class 6

Throughout the early primary years, the Chrysalis Steiner curriculum provides the children with many opportunities to build their capacity for imaginative and creative thinking. Through imaginative activities such as story recall, drama, play, and learning through the epochs; the students begin to see the world from a bigger perspective through the feeling life. Class 3 raft building

After a term of unprecedented learning experiences, Class 3 were given the opportunity of an excursion to the river flats of Homelands community as a culmination of their craft and building lessons that they engaged with during the term. We were fortunate to start the day with the school cross country, followed by some throwing and catching games and a variety of relays before having our morning tea on the oval. Fun and Fitness for all our amazing students on the last day of Term 2 Thankfully many students started their cross-country training during the COVID break. We were surprised how fit some of them were when we started practicing during the first week back at school. Fortunately for the students Classes 2, 3, 4 & 5 practiced diligently 3 to 5 times a week throughout the term.
