Happenings in Class 2 This term has brought many learning experiences to the children in Class Two. The term commenced with the ‘Saintly Lives’ Main Lesson and the children heard a variety of stories about those who demonstrated qualities such as love, hope, courage, strength and more. Winter Reflections Our Class 1 community has melded like molten rock; they work, play, move, sing and dream together, and each individual member of the class is growing more confident and relaxed in themselves. The children are writing and practicing their lower-case letters in large and small print, in the air and acting out the letters by sitting on the tables. Greetings from River Song Now with the wattle ball and dollies tea party behind us, we are welcoming Lady Spring and preparing for our involvement in the whole school festival at the Maypole green. As the children bound into Spring, their bodies are lengthening and stretching out. They are all gaining more control of their physical movements and becoming a little more aware of how they affect others. At Morning Star we love to celebrate the seasons through poetry, songs, dances, morning circles, painting, drawing and craft activities. So with the transition from winter to spring, Term 3 has kept us very busy. We started the term with our wood cutters Morning Circle and the children enjoyed carrying their wooden stump axe around, stomping through the woods to gather the fire wood to keep us warm. Chrysalis would like to acknowledge the Australian Government funding provided by the Parliaments and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) to assist our Class 6 students to visit the on their recent trip to Canberra. Students from the class undertook an education tour of the national capital. They were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.
